As the staging of Fully Flawed I Walk The Earth is still in development, we’ve included here 3 pieces of support material to give you a sense of what the work will look and feel like.

  1. The first example is a Sound Cloud Link to a 20 minute piece from John Millard’s Fully Flawed I Walk The Earth. This is one of the main pieces from the evening that we’re proposing to you at Crow’s, and it gives you a sense of what the music will sound like.

NB this is a demo of the music created on a composition software program and does not feature live instruments.  It does, however, give you a sense of the full arrangement of the piece.

  1. The second example is a 1.5 minute trailer from Melancholiac: The Music of Scott Walker. This piece was also conceived and directed by Bad New Days’ Adam Paolozza, with musical direction by Gregory Oh, the musical director from Fully Flawed I Walk The Earth. This is an example of a previous large-scale cabaret work from Bad New Days, also directed by Paolozza and featuring musical direction by Gregory Oh. It also features John Millard as a singer.

This piece was originally presented at SummerWorks in 2025, and remounted at In The Soil arts festival in St.Catharine’s in 2017, before having a full run at The Music Gallery in Toronto, in 2019.

Melancholiac was named one of the Torontoist's Top Ten Things they loved about SummerWorks, was also featured in NOW Magazine's post festival round-up.

  1. The third example is a 2 minute trailer from The Cave, a musical-cabaret performance featuring music by John Millard, lyrics by Tomson Highway, and book by Martha Ross. The piece was also directed by Adam Paolozza, and featured musical direction by Gregory Oh. Again, this is another example of a collaboration between Millard, Paolozza and Oh working in a similar idiom to the piece that we’re proposing to Crow’s.

This piece was created with support from the Canada Council’s sizable New Chapter’s grant, and was presented at Luminato Festival in 2019, remounted at Luminato in 2022, with a subsequent six city tour in BC’s interior, before a run at The Cultch in Vancouver in November 2022.

The teaser gives an example of Millard’s music, his stage presence as the host, and it also has a sample of press clippings.
